Headaches are caused due to the changes that take place in the nerves near the major blood vessels in the head. The changes that occur in cortex, external cover of the brain causes Aura Migraine. It is frequently explained as a throbbing feeling that may start usually from one side and can spread to the other side and patients complain about pain behind the eyes, neck and head. The warning symptoms of Aura migraine is disturbances of vision in one or both the eyes. These symptoms can last from few minutes to few hours before the headache starts. This type of Migraine is mostly found in women than men, mostly between the age group of 10 to 46 years and it can be mostly hereditary.
Triggers
Unusual Brain activity may get triggered off due to stress, food item or anything else is the main cause of a Migraine. It appears to involve several passages of nerves and chemicals in the brain and these changes have an effect in the flow of blood and other adjacent membranes.
Migraine can be triggered off by any allergic reaction, dazzling lights, loud noises, mental stress or physical stress, smoking, alcohol, altered sleep pattern, hormone changes and skipping meals.
Symptoms
The symptoms of Aura (Vision) Migraine can be a combination of short-term blind spot, receptive to bright light, pain in eye, unclear vision, Nauseating sensation, Vomiting, Increased Urinating and Sweating, chillness, weakness and bad temper.
For instance, person suffering from aura migraine might first visualize a black dot mostly encircled by blinking lights or crisscross lines and the size of these lines or dots can enlarge over a period. Loss of sight and blinking lights or crisscross lights are a distinctive characteristic of aura migraine. Vision disorder is due to the low activity of nerves and blackouts are caused by the sector of restless nerve cells. Symptoms such as gradual numbness or vision problem does not occur if there is sudden blockage in the vessel due to which blood cannot be supplied to the brain and this triggers off a sudden failure of brain function.
Migraine is usually not a serious sickness but in rare conditions, patients suffering from migraine may develop severe complications such as a stroke and this could be due to long-standing obstruction in the blood vessels.
Treatment
As such there is no cure for migraine headaches but several drugs are available that can reduce the pain and some of these drugs can have side effects such as birth defects so pregnant women are advised not to take these drugs. Medicines such as Tranquillizer, painkillers, inflammatory and emetic resistant are prescribed to the patients.
Conclusions
Patients are advised to maintain details that may be possible reasons to trigger off the pain. They need to observe keenly and identify the sources that are responsible for this attack such as Sleep disorders, any food items they have consumed and avoid these. It is advisable to maintain a good exercising and sleeping schedule. Smoking, alcohol and caffeine should be completely avoided.In fact, most of the Migraine patient’s are capable of recognizing their warning symptoms prior to migraine attack and take medicines to get relief from the terrifying headache.
