The root cause of Migraine headache is not known. It can be the consequence of a sequence of reaction in the central nervous system Cerebrum and can be commonly an inherited illness. When the headache is in progress the serotonin levels fall down causing the trigeminal nerve to discharge a matter called neuropeptides. The neuropeptides passes to the brain’s outer layer meninges that actually enlarges, inflames the blood vessels thus instigating headache.
A trigger or the main root cause of a migraine headache can be any driving force that instigates the pain. A trigger is any stimulus that initiates a system or response. In general triggers of migraine are
· Ecological conditions: Any variations in climate, time sector, weather, and altitude level can induce a headache.
· Food items and drinks that consist of surplus caffeine chocolate, alcohol, pickles, soaked and preserved foods, Chinese salt used in Chinese food item, few items that are used for seasoning, cut down on meals can trigger of a migraine pain.
· Glittering lights and intense sun shine, peculiar or foul odour may cause migraine pain.
· Sometimes the changes in sleep pattern such as sleeping for less hours or sleeping for more hours can trigger of headache.
· In few cases emotional and physical stress can be the cause of migraine.
· Migraine pain can get aggregated by few medicines.
· Extreme exertion physically may also worsen the pain.
· Variation in estrogens level intensifies the headache in women either before or all through the periods.
Most of the patients complain the pain starts of due to something and this may not be same in all migraine patients. Hereditary is not the main cause for a person to get the migraine attack but there are few genetic feature that makes a person more at risk to get migraine.
By maintaining a record of the entire possible sources that causes migraine and avoiding them, by handling nervousness and taking preventing medications, maintaining a note of all the possible help in preventing migraine headaches. Patients are advised to observe:-
· Sensitive issues (e.g. traumatic circumstances).
· Physical issues (e.g. sickness, exhaustion).
· Surrounding Factors (e.g. climate conditions).
· Food and Drinks.
· Medicines.
· Sleeping patterns.
· Migraine features (e.g. intensity of pain, time-span).
People suffering from Migraine attack choose to relax or sleep in a cool, cosy badly lit room and use cool pads or press the artery at the edge of the ear.
