Hemiplegics Migraine
In few patients migraine headache is associated with Hemiplegics. One side of the patient’s body becomes lifeless, numb, has no sensation, has no movement and all these are the most common type of symptoms of paralysis stroke that could be a terrifying symptom which usually starts when a person is suffering from migraine attack or soon after the migraine pain subsides. But this symptom is short lived and mostly disappears within a day but in few rare cases it may persist for weeks. At times major part of the left side of the body may be paralysed or at times only a part of the left side can be paralysed such as hard to speak, patient may experience numbness or pickiness. This type of migraine can commence in a patient during childhood phase or adulthood phase and the same person may at times get the migraine pain with or without the paralysis symptoms. Patients may develop depression as the symptoms are very frightful.
Hemiplegics Migraine is of two types Familial and sporadic and there is not much difference between these tow types of Hemiplegics migraine.
Familial Migraine
Patients suffer from this type of hemiplegics migraine due to the fact that they have the same genes as that of a close relative such as parent or siblings who might be already suffering from the same type of migraine pain. It is mainly an inherent type and most of the patients have few aura (Vision) Migraine such as a combination of short-term blind spot, receptive to bright light, pain in eye, unclear vision, Nauseating sensation, Vomiting, Increased Urinating and Sweating, chillness, weakness and bad temper.
Migraine Hemiplegic Sporadic
Patients experience the same kind of symptoms but there is any genetic link to it is still not approved but has develops symptoms of weaknesses.
Medicines
The paralysis must be treated immediately and there is a possibility that the connection of headache and paralysis may worsen the heart problem. So the physician may not prescribe drugs such as trip tans, ergotamine but may prescribe NSAID and medicines to prevent the attack such as to block the calcium path and help patients recover from depression.
Conclusion
Since the paralysis is for a temporary duration, patients need not get unduly tensed about this attack and instead they should take proper medications and can tryout other alternative medications.
New researches on genetics are aiding in diagnosing hemiplegics migraine more effortlessly and various other kinds of treatments can also be used to treat Hemiplegics migraine after a proper study of its effectiveness and the success rate.
